# Sign up and create a shop

Chapter: Getting your shop open
Who this is for: Shop owner, signed out.
Trigger: Landing on reedport.com and creating a shop.

## What the clip says

Open Sign up to start a new shop. Name, email, a password, and the shop's name. A legal name is optional. Create shop starts a 14 day trial. No card, and it never charges on its own.

Signing up asks for the owner's name, email, password, and the shop's name, nothing about tax or labor codes yet.
Create shop hands off to Check your email.

## Steps

- Enter **First name**, **Last name**, **Email**, **Password** (8 or more characters), **Shop name**, and an optional **Legal name**.

- Click **Create shop**. The trial runs 14 days with no card. After it, ReedPort is $40 a month per shop, until you cancel from Settings, Billing.

## What happens to money and stock

Nothing moves. No card is asked for or charged at sign up.

## Watch out for

- If the form will not let you finish, reload the page and try again, or email support@reedport.com.
- No tax rate, labor codes, or shop code are asked here.

## Not yet

Sign up itself does not import a list. After the trial starts, use Bring a list on Customers, Equipment, or Inventory for people, machines, and parts.
