# Reset a forgotten password

## What the clip says

Forgot password asks for an email and sends a reset link. It always says the same thing, on file or not. That never gives away who has an account. The emailed link swaps in a new-password form. Type a new password and save it.

Requesting a reset never reveals whether the email is on file. The emailed link swaps the form to a new password.

## Steps

- Enter **Email** and click **Send reset**.

- Open the emailed link, type a new password, and click **Save password**.

## What happens to money and stock

Nothing moves.

## Watch out for

- Always says "If that email is on file, a reset was sent." It never confirms whether the address exists.

## Not yet

There is no phone or security-question reset. Only the emailed link works.
